Home, the most beautiful documentary you have ever seen!

First of all I’m sorry for not discovering this movie earlier. This is the internet: a vast chaos in which we try to figure out some order. Anyways, … what you’re about to see (in case you haven’t yet) is- in my opinion-the most beautiful visual-poetry I have ever seen. … read more

Grand Funk Railroad – Sin’s a good man’s brother

Grand Funk Railroad – Sin’s a good man’s brother

I have discovered this song – probably like many other young fellows out there – at the end of the movie Law Abiding Citizen (which is a great movie, by the way) and I totally love it! I never heard of Grand Funk Railroad before but this song they made in the 70’s is very similar in style with the Led Zeppelin way of singing.

The Century of the Self

The Century of the Self

For those of you who saw this documentary (which is kind of a milestone for the PR people), I’m sure this is nothing new. But for those of you who didn’t, this is a beautiful retrospective of the 20th century regarding “how those in power have used Freud’s theories to try and control the dangerous crowd in an age of mass democracy” (Adam Curtis – director, writer and producer of this series).
It has 4 episodes, each telling a different part of the last century. From Edward Bernays who invented Public Relations, because “Propaganda” had a bad connotation in the peoples minds (it was aggressively used by the Nazis), to the “Torches of Freedom” – a slogan invented so that women can freely smoke in public (it was a tabu at that time and they discovered that cigarettes are – in fact – a phallic symbol), so they told women – more or less – that they can have their own penis.

I’m not gonna spoil all the fun here, but I strongly recommend this series. It’s a 4 hours time consuming but it’s worth watching!

Stunning animation made by Esteban Diacono along with a beautiful song ( Ljósið – search for it here: foundsongs.erasedtapes.com ) and great quotes by Brian Eno, Stefan Segmeister, Albert Einstein and others…
It’s breath taking. Watch

the parent trap

the parent trap

I was looking for an old good movie, not so “deep and heavy’ but rather something easy for the night. And I found The Parent Trap. I know, you’ll probably say “Only now you found it?”. Well, … yes … I know I’m lame :) . Anyway, this movie is soooo cute that you find yourself wondering wether you love it or you hate it. Because it’s only one of it! Along with my all time favorite Breakfast at Tiffany’s and with Gone with the wing, Casablanca and The sound of the music, this movie will take his place in my classic movies collection.
