For everyone’s sake, drive safely this Christmas

For everyone’s sake, drive safely this Christmas

Australian Premier John Brumby today reminded all Victorians of their responsibility to drive safely, as TAC marked 20 years of road safety campaigns and drivers across the state switched their headlights on for road safety. Speaking at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where the first TAC advertisement was filmed, Mr Brumby reminded all Victorians that reducing road trauma was a community effort. Today, Victorians have shown their commitment to road safety by Shining a Light on Road Trauma, Mr Brumby said. This is a sign of the commitment of the whole community to help reduce deaths and injuries on our roads. Mr Brumby also launched a montage of the most memorable TAC images from the past 20 years, to be aired across the commercial networks just once, after 8.30pm tonight.

If you live in US, you probably don’t know about this car and the history behind it. In a few words, Trabant was a car produced back in the late 50’s till 1991 in the former East Germany. It rapidly became one of the symbols in the East Germany as well as in other communist countries. For advocates of capitalism it is often cited as an example of the disadvantages of centralized planning as even refueling the car required lifting the hood, filling the tank with gasoline (only 6.5 gallons), then adding two-stroke oil and shaking it back and forth to mix. It was in production without any significant changes for nearly 30 years with 3,096,099 Trabants produced in total.

I am a Mercedes Benz fan. But THIS … I like! It’s a revolutionary concept car made by Iranian designer Kave Naser Bakht. The Audi D7 Concept was introduced in Kamal Aldin Behzad Gallery, in Tehran, at “From dream to reality” Exposition. The event wanted to present the abilities of the graduates from University of Industrial Design in Iran.

Audi D7 Concept Car is a sports model propelled by an electric motor, which presents certain aesthetic features of Audi models. The most interesting element of this design is created by the continuous line with LED taillights and optical blocks. This light gives a model the identity and replaces traditional Audi lighting.

Kave Naser Bakht, the author of this concept, integrated the taillights D7 forms and blocks on the optical current Audi models and adapted them according to the model forms.
